The Chem-Dry Difference

Not all carpet cleaning services are created equal. There are several key factors that separate a high-quality carpet cleaning process that delivers a healthier clean for your carpets from one that drenches and waterlogs your carpets with water and harsh cleaners.

Many carpet cleaning companies will use unnecessary amounts of soapy water that can cause issues once they leave. The excessive amounts of water increase the risk of mould, mildew and bacteria growth in the carpet, underlay and subfloor beneath. Often the soap, carpet shampoo, detergent, and chemicals used behind a sticky or crunchy residue. These residues are known for attracting dirt and causing the carpets to be dirtied in no time.

Chem-Dry’s process is different.

We employ millions of microscopic bubbles to lift dirt up and out from deep in your carpet fibres, which is why we only need to use a fraction of the water and less water pressure that typical steam cleaning uses. After the carbonation releases and lifts the dirt, our high-powered equipment extracts the dirt and moisture from the carpet. The result is a deeper clean that’s also healthier because your carpet dries quicker. Your carpet will also stay cleaner for longer because there is no soapy residue left behind.

Technician Training

Chem-Dry technicians go through a great deal of training to be professional carpet cleaners that our customers can trust. Different types of carpet, rugs and upholstery need unique care. We make it a point to understand your specific carpet and its needs, so no damage is caused to your home. For our technicians to offer any of our services, they must be trained first. Whether this be carpet cleaning, flood restoration, fire and smoke restoration and so forth. Your local Chem-Dry will only offer services that they are trained in and have the correct tools for. This is one of our promises to our customers, so that you can be rest assured that you are getting the best person for the job.

Our training is made up of both practical and theory-based learning.

All technicians complete our 5 Star Technician Programme. This is an in-house graduate programme. Balancing the bookwork is guided learning where trainees are on the job, partnered with an experienced team member, learning the ropes. They to this for approximately 3-4 months before they can start to work independently.

Ongoing skills maintenance is also important to us as this keeps our technicians performing to best practice. It also keeps our team up to date on new carpets and materials and how to treat these, new cleaning systems and techniques.

Every technician must attend a refresher training course bi-annually.

Flood recovery and restoration requires another set of skills again. This is why our flood teams are IICRC Certified. It is a stressful time when your house has been flooded so having trained technicians with the correct equipment to quickly extract any moisture and deal with insurance companies on your behalf, can make all the difference in returning a sense of normality and order to your home.
